ARTISTS STATEMENT

Impressionistic Realism is the style in which I work. It’s a versatile yet challenging style where the poetry of subject is preserved and paramount. I will imply detail through the perpetuity and congruence of visual vocabulary shared in our human experience. For Realism my paintings require a little distance and become a portal into a place or moment. The brushwork and palette knife together create a textural Impressionism and paint quality which entices a closer look. I enjoy depicting the variety of life in the 21st Century and often include man-made objects, figures, or animals. It is the elegant randomness of form and light with which I dance, and I hope to remind and inspire others to take time to see just how amazing this existence is. I am truly fortunate for the gift of placing these “poetic reminders” in to the lives of others, and I will never take that gift for granted.
