The workstation:
COUNTERWEIGHTED EASEL PLANS YOU CAN BUILD FOR UNDER A HUNDRED BUCKS!!
Comprable easels on the market can run as expensive as 5000.00 and these plans can get you up and running in a day or less and the easel can handle sizes from as small as you can paint, to 6′X6′ canvases. And one could easily modify the plans to accomodate even larger pieces.

If you have to paint in the studio, why not do it in a manner with the least amount of separation from your photo reference. Painting from a computer monitor gives more luminosity to a photo than a just printing one of your images to paper, plus you can zoom all the way in to the actual pixel color for that information if you want it.
