Governor’s Invitational Show in April

"Below Fern Falls" 30X40 Oil on LinenWhile I was in Estes Park competing in the plein air festival they have there, I attended a party at Judy Archibald’s lovely house on the hill for the attending artists. Judy sits on the board of directors for the Governor’s Invitational Show and I asked her if she would take one of my brochures and let me know the protocol for entering the show. Well low and behold, I get a letter of invite a couple of months later. YAY!

Above is one of the paintings that I will be submitting for the show. I think Fern Falls is one of the best waterfalls I’ve come across in Rocky Mountain National Park. I am always smitten by overgrown wilderness and Fern Falls has no shortage of pleasantly fallen flood debres overlaping and criss-crossing the cascade below the falls.  This painting is depicting early morning light barely passing through the surrounding trees. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

A little bit about the Governor’s Art Show:
Web address for more info:  http://www.governorsartshow.org/
This year will be the 19th annual!
The show will open with a Gala and artist’s reception on April 24th at the Loveland Art Museum in Loveland, CO.
The tickets for the opening night are sold for $55.00 which includes a full color catalogue.
The roster of artists that have been invited is STELLAR, should be great show.

Way to go Josh! This piece is absolutely stunning, and I imagine it’s only more so in person and I can’t wait to see it!

This is excellent, I’m sure it will be a big hit at the show. Nice work.
